Counselor Education and Supervision

Welcome

Nicole Taylor

My journey to the field of counselor education has been shaped by professional experience, academic pursuits, personal healing, and a deep-rooted calling to serve others. What began as an interest in high school has evolved into a commitment to the counseling profession and the development of future counselors.

Through my personal and professional experiences, I have learned the importance of empathy, presence, and connection, and my clinical experiences have taught me how to meet people with compassion during some of their most vulnerable moments. Pursuing a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision has encouraged me to apply these skills to further my development as a supervisor, counselor, researcher, leader, and educator to prepare and equip future generations of counselors.

Since beginning this degree, I've rekindled a passion for mentorship and supervision. Supporting counselors through varying stages of development has deepened my understanding of how to tailor supervision to individuals' needs, fostering growth in confidence and professional identity. I've learned to find a balance between support, challenge to encourage self-reflection, and behavioral integrity in developing counselors. I aim to create classrooms and supervision spaces that blend encouragement with accountability so individuals can feel supported in taking risks and growing in their professional skills.

This portfolio reflects my growth, passion, and readiness to step into the role of counselor educator. I am committed to using my experience to teach, serve, and inspire future generations of counselors to be compassionate and competent in serving the needs of their communities.
